Illustration Friday - "Captain"

No, this was not influenced by the recent slate of pirate stuff out there because of a certain popular movie. I have always done pirates. It was done 5 years ago. Mr. Depp had nothing to do with this drawing. (I always thought it was dumb to name yourself after a brand of hair gel anyway, but it seems to work for him.)

An acrylic painting done for an invitational show at a local gallery. I'm bummed it didn't sell, but oh well... that means I can post it here!

Illustration Friday - CLEAR 2

I was at the Erie Otter's OHL hockey game last night. I did this sketch... colored it today on the computer. As an explaination for those even less familiar than I am with the rules of hockey: When you re playing short-handed because of a penalty, you can legally ice the puck (shoot it all the way to the other end.) This is called clearing it.

Illustration Friday - WIND

So, It's Halloween... I LOVE Halloween!
I'm not sure which version of this I like best.

Here's the story:

Stanley could remember killing Aurthur. Aurthur had cheated him out of fifty dollars. It was a repayment of a debt. It made things even, didn't it? But the lynch mob had said it did not. Stanley had told them why it was fair, but they wouldn't listen. They had said "a life for a life"... and yes, that had sounded fair to Stanley. As they strung him up, Stanley realized that the balance was uneven again. What about the fifty dollars Aurthur had taken? Who would pay? He hung from that tree in the meadow for weeks before the idea entered his rotting mind... the lynch mob... they were the ones who needed to pay. The scales would balance again...

Illustration Friday - SACRIFICE

Jesus gave up a chance at having a loving wife and kids, drinking good wine with his buds and changing the world as its ruler of 2000 years. He did this because he loves you. Thank him. He deserves your thanks and praise. Oh yeah, he also hung on a cross and died... for YOU.

Done in pen and ink then manipulated with GIMP software.
